Google Calendar is an app from Google that keeps track of important dates and alerts you of upcoming events. Though this app came with the 4.0 operating system that many phones used, it is now available as its own app.

Though you can use the calendar on your phone, you can only save dates and reminders to that phone. With Google Calendar, you can save dates that you can view on any device that you log into with your Google account information. If you have multiple accounts or want to share a calendar with one or more other users, you can link those accounts together and give all users access to the same calendar of events.

This app lets you add simple dates about parties or events that you want to attend. You can add the time of the event and the address of the event too. When you add an address, the app will let you click on that address to access a map and see that location. You can even use Google Street View to see nearby buildings and other things nearby that will help you find that address later.

When you add a date to your calendar, you can also add a reminder and change that reminder. If you add an email address, Google Calendar will send a reminder to your email prior to the event. You can change the reminder to work as an alert that comes straight to your phone, which is helpful for those days when you might not check your email regularly. The app will let you decide when you want that reminder too. Get a reminder just 10 minutes before the event starts, several hours ahead of time or even the night before.

One complaint about this app is that it lacks Facebook integration. When you have Facebook events that you want to attend, you must manually put in those dates in your calendar. The same holds true for the birthdays and anniversaries that you want to celebrate too. It does keep track of upcoming holidays too and shows you the day that each one falls on to help you plan for the future. The app shows events and dates coming up in the near future in a clean and streamlined way. Google users will find that this calendar app is one of the best ways to keep track of important dates and events.
